Who Am I?

It’s a crown of gLeaming golden glory shines in the scorching African sun.
MajestIcally, he surveys all subjects in his kingdom.
Silently, creeping, pOuncing he strikes his unfortunate victim.
SlumberiNg under a shady tree he relaxes.

Fairground Setting

Flying frantically, the swings only leave a faded blur for where it last was. Also, all you can hear is the excited screams of the riders. When they get off the ride they fall to the floor like a baby deer newly born. The ride is a giant hand circling the frightened fish. The sweet smells of mouth-watering doughnuts being put into the bag temp my taste buds enough to explode. As you touch the barrier it reaches out and grabs you and hypnotises you to make the ride irresistible.

The Very Busy Spider

One bright, warm day the wind blew a spider into space. The spider landed on the hot sun and began to spin a web.

“Bibba! Bibba!” said Sush. “Want to jump on the white, big moon? The spider didn’t answer she was very busy spinning her web.

“Susher! Susher!” said Zog. “Want to eat some pie?” The spider didn’t answer she was very bisy spining her web.

The Very Busy Spider

One sunny, beautiful day the wind blew a spider across the fence and landed with a clump and a trump. Then it started to spin a web.

“Neigh! Neigh!” said the horse. “Want to eat some hay?”
But the spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.
“Moo! Moo!” Says the cow. “Do you want to eat some green, yummy grass?”
But the spider didn’t answer because she was very busy spinning her web.

Time for a change.

Hi I am Josh. I am here to tell you about my thoughts on the new timetable which might be introduced from 7.00am until 1.30pm when school closes.

I think it is a goods idea to have refreshing exercise at the crack of dawn to get us awake ready for the start of the day and warm ourselves up ready for a good breakfast. After that, then we can have a good four hours of lessons. Next we can have a fabulous hour just to cool us down ready for home time. Finally, we can have a spectacular lunch just to keep us going on throughout the day.

On the other hand, I disagree with it because you have to wake up early and head to school on an empty stomach waiting for food at eight o’clock when we have just come in from a tiring lesson of P.E. all hungry. Then only get half an hour to have breakfast and then go into four hours with no breaks and just sit being all sweaty and tiring. Finally, having to wait one hour before getting to eat at 1.30pm when we get home.

I think we should have it because it is good to get out of school early to do what we want to do for the rest of the afternoon.

Thank you for listening.

Josh Bowen

Why do we have day and night?

Moving slowly, the earth rotates while orbiting the sun. As it rotates the side facing the sun means that it is daytime. Due to the fact that the side facing the sun equals daytime so the opposite side must have night time. Rotating repeatedly, the earth rotates on its own imaginary line (axis). Luckily, while we are rotating we do not fall off this because of gravity. Continuously moving it makes it look like the sun is moving through the sky but in fact it is spinning.

Why do we have daytime and night time?

To explain why we have day and night time we need to examine the Earth, Sun and Moon. The Sun is a massive ball of fire also it is the largest star in the sky. The Earth orbits the sun and it takes a long time, the Moon orbits the earth.

For the Earth to orbit the sun it takes 365 ¼ days that is exactly 1 year. In the summer the Sun is higher in the sky that means its rays are stronger. The Earth is titled towards the Sun so we have quite a lot of sun. When it is spring and autumn the sun is in the middle so it is not cold or it’s not hot. If the season is winter the suns rays are weaker and Earth is cold because it is tilted away from the Sun.

One of the outstanding features of this luxurious fountain is that everyday it grows an inch taller – leaving you with a marvellous amount of chocolate each day (that’s a fact!). Be sure to take a taste of the rich, creamy chocolate that flows from the mountain fountain. One advantage of the fountain is that it comes with a free chocolate bar and marshmallows!

So what are you waiting for? Your birthday, Christmas? Wait no longer that fountain which looks like a mountain is selling like hot cakes! Not only is it selling fast … it has 10% off.

Dear Mum,

I am here in Greece having a great time, We have a hotel with a gigantic pool that we jump in every time we are bored and every time we go to the shops there is an ice cream van with delicious ice cream.

Near to the hotel there is a wonderful park. Yesterday we packed a delicious picnic and we sat under a shady tree near the beautiful lake.

The weather is boiling and we can get our swimming suits on and go to the cool sea. We have built some pointy sandcastles on the beach and have had our hair braded.

It’s a lovely place and I wish you were here,

Lots of love Alice

Tuesday 27th November 2007

Dear Diary,

Last night my Mum said that we are moving house, however I thought she was joking but she wasn't. So I sprinted upstairs and thought about what it would be like although when I move I will miss all my friends including the teachers. After a while, I began to think about the football stadium where Nottingham always won. Although my brother (Ashley) wanted to move because he has no friends around here.

Monday 2nd December 2007

Dear Diary,

All is fin at school and in the house. There are lots of kids who I have made friends with, there is a boy called Sean Walker who comes round to play most days. Luckily, our new house has a games room which is amazing, also the house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. Later that day, I went to the park. It has a fantastic football pitch which is much bigger than my old one. When I look out of the front door the park is opposite!

Book Review

Title: The Missing Mummy
Author : Philip Wooderson

Synopsis: The book was about a missing Mummy called Slosh. Ptoni and her dad wanted some wine. Some cats surrounded Slosh. Slosh had pretended to be his brother so he did not have to pay a lot of money.

Ptoni and his dad wanted to give the people at the palace some wine. In the warehouse they saw that Slosh had died. Find out what happens by reading this book.

Opinion: I think this book is good because it has good Wow words like mummified.

Biscuit Bear

Watch the acrobats as they toss and tumble. Watch the strong man raise his rolling pin. See the tomato ketchup bottle. They were having so much fun they didn't notice the shadow looming in the doorway. Bongo the Dog liked biscuits but not in a way that is necessarily good for the biscuits. But Biscuit Bear looked sadly at the mess.

Glapton Past and Present

I am going to tell you about how Glapton Primary School was in the past and how it is now.

When it first opened there was no uniform. If you were naughty you would have had the cane and this would have left a red mark for a whole day. When you sat down in the morning the tables and chairs were made of wood. They had a little drawer at the bottom of the table. If you left an apple in the drawer you had ants!

On the playground they had operators. At lunch you were not allowed chocolate you had to have a healthy break and dinner. At break time there was a large box of money and crisps and there were two people, one money monitor and one crisp monitor.

Turning our powerful verbs into similes

Glides- The hi-tech jet plane glides in the air like a ferocious eagle searching for prey.

Squawks - The 2415 air craft ‘s wheels squawks like an eagle when the wheels hit the tarmac.

Destroys – The helicopter hovering over a house is like an eagle stalking its prey.

Turning our powerful verbs into metaphors

A whole street of noisy traffic is a herd of hippos stampeding down the street charging for Jordan.

The noise outside is a colossal ogre charging for my next door neighbours house in hunger.

My Dragon

My dragon has a long ferocious pointy tail
And fantastic sharp shiny teeth.
He eats food from someone called Gaile
He flies like a plain white pelican with breath in its mouth.
My dragon has a long pointy chin
And my dragon is as big as a willow tree.
He eats three birds everyday really fast
He flies like an aeroplane that is green and red.
Who is he looking for?
Not me!
